Vision

Create an Aboriginal arts Industry through active development and marketing of Goldfields Aboriginal Art.

• Aboriginal cultural expression is strengthened and maintained
• Local people enjoy a sustainable livelihood from their artworks
• Create greater awareness of Aboriginal culture and art in the Goldfields

Strategy

• Walkatjurra Cultural Centre establishes an Art Project to undertake art skills development in northern Goldfields Aboriginal communities.
• The Walkatjurra Cultural Centre work with ALL communities in the northern Goldfields and be the leading Aboriginal Arts support centre in the region.
• Create livelihoods for artists in the Goldfields.
• Create networks and support structures for fledgling Aboriginal art industry in the Goldfields.

Action

• Generate support from interested local government agencies, community organisations, private sector parties and individuals to collectively work on fulfilling this vision.
• Undertaking planning and focus groups to fine tune processes
• Seek commitment of funding and resources from key agencies and stakeholders
• Appoint an Arts Worker
• Acquire hard and soft infrastructure to undertake activities
