- Extinct Fauna Heritage Survey Project (Map and test evidence of Leporillus apicalis) in partnership with Murdoch University’s Ancient DNA Research Laboratory and Outback Ecology Consultants and community volunteers.
- Awarded two consecutive years of Federal Government Indigenous Heritage Program funding to the value of $200, 000.00 to identify heritage sites within the Northern Goldfields region.
- Survey and identification of over 30 new Aboriginal heritage sites within the Northern Goldfields region through Ranger field-based activities. Supported by Goldfields Australia - Agnew.
- Development of a digital heritage management system, the Ngalia cultural sites management system in partnership with Aboriginal database organization Cultural Sites Solutions.
- Acquit a successful natural resource enterprise project in partnership with Curtin University: Centre for Sustainable Mine Lakes, and the UWA Centre for Excellence in Natural Resource Management, resulting in the identification of a new native plant species suitable for commercialization. Produce is now available in several IGA supermarkets within regional WA.
- Undertake native plant species nutritional research in partnership with Curtin University: School of Biomedical Science and the Desert Knowledge Cooperative Research Centre.
- Facilitate training for 23 ranger participants in formal flora/fauna surveying and habitat assessment techniques through the contracting of a professional environmental consultant.
- Undertake flora/fauna surveys and habitat assessments for portions of Wanjarri Reserve and adjoining pastoral lease boarders.
- Development of a youth participatory video heritage project to engage ‘at risk’ youth within field-based ranger activities.
- Youth rangers winning an international short film competition through the Lonely Planet – less than three travel competition. Supported by BHP Billiton Nickel West.
- Two peer reviewed journal articles (youth participation in ICT initiatives and web2.0 application for heritage and cultural management through youth engagement). One of which was written in collaboration with staff from the University of British Columbia, Okanagan.
- One peer reviewed book chapter within an international academic collaboration on Aboriginal participatory video application; the role of ownership and decision-making. Under review.
- Presentation of Youth Ranger Project outcomes at the UN Web2.0fordev Conference, UN FAO HQ Rome Italy. Supported by Curtin University.
- Develop a partnership with Hassel architecture firm for the design and planning of a new cultural centre to base the Ranger Program, in Leonora Western Australia.
- Successfully support a youth diversionary and rehabilitation program for three youth rangers. Supported by BHP Billiton Nickel West.
- Ranger participation in a CSIRO sustainable livelihoods project, with input used to formulate outcomes in the Learning Journeys report.
- Ranger group undergo a land management workshop with the Leave No Trace Australia organization.
- Development of a locally specific ‘Green Guide’ for traditional owners in the Northern Goldfields region through Leave No Trace Australia.
- Four senior rangers attending and participating in workshops at the SERI 2009 Conference (society for ecological restoration), supported by Goldfields Australia.
- Two youth rangers enrolled in a Certificate II in Leadership Development at Challenger TAFE.
- Undertaken a cultural exchange program with Canadian First Nations Peoples in regional British Columbia through a partnership with the University of British Columbia, Okanagan.
